Jerald leads most of the human-centred leadership initiatives at Awaken Group. He seeks out organisations that (1) have a desire to be more human, (2) have a desire to increase leadership effectiveness to lift profits or (3) have a strong stance on living out values. He then works with these organisations using a variety of interventions, e.g., coaching, training, engagement and learning through mobile learning platforms, etc. One example of Jerald’s passion for human-centred leadership is seen in his StrengthsFinder work. Using the Gallup StrengthsFinder Assessment tool, Jerald helps organisations to recognise the value of leveraging on individuals’ strengths rather than individuals’ weaknesses. As a Gallup-certified coach and an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coach Federation (ICF), Jerald has helped a wide variety of clients in different stations of life to figure out their life purpose, uncover their strengths and remove barriers to personal effectiveness. Jerald also is well-versed in Design Thinking methodologies. He has facilitated DT workshops for various organisations, including a global logistics and transportation company and one of the largest sovereign wealth funds in the world. His unique take on DT include the use of human-centred coaching frameworks and McKinsey-style problem solving to generate more innovative and useful solutions. He holds a B. Bus (Hons) in Business Studies (Human Resource Consulting Specialisation) and a B. Bus (Hons) in Accounting from Nanyang Technological University.
