Sharjah Education Council was established by H.H Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, in accordance with the Amiri decree (45) of 2006; which states the establishment of Sharjah Education Council, as the legal authority to plan and develop the educational system in Sharjah within the general educational policies of the UAE. Since its establishment, the council seeks to establish a conscientious generation who are committed to their principles through future foresight, continuous improvement and development of the educational system in a competitive and innovative framework. The council supervises all government nurseries built in public schools and government organizations within Sharjah. Currently, there are 28 existing nurseries with around 1600 registered children, who are cared by 99 nursery supervisors and 55 teachers.
