Dave Duarte is CEO of Treeshake, an organisation that involves people in urgent issues ranging from environmental protection to digital education. He serves on the Board of the Mail & Guardian newspaper, and as Trustee for the Reach Trust which has served over 10 million people with educational support using mobile phones. A passionate educator, he also serves on the Academy for the Global Teacher Prize. Previously Mr. Duarte was Programme Director at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business, headed up Creative Commons South Africa, and founded South Africa’s largest and leading social media agency, Cerebra. He has given talks and workshops in more than 20 countries, including at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where he participated as a Young Global Leader in 2017.
